mimoOn and 4M Wireless demonstrate cutting edge LTE software solutions
LTE technology companies, mimoOn and 4M Wireless have completed an end to end LTE video streaming call between a complete LTE eNodeB protocol stack and a complete LTE terminal protocol stack implementation.
The two companies will showcase their cutting edge solutions during the 2009 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The demonstrations will utilize the 4M Wireless LTE protocol stack software for user equipment (UE) devices and the mimoOn LTE eNodeB protocol software.
The companies will present the performance of their LTE products in a demonstration which will include transmission of a live high definition video stream and execution of a file transfer application through the LTE protocol stacks. The UE and eNodeB LTE protocol stacks will reside on separate hardware platforms and will communicate via an ethernet connection. A Graphical User Interface will be used to show the signaling of complete Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocol layers. These demonstrations will not only present the advanced capabilities of the two companies, but will also confirm the interoperability of their protocol stack implementations compliant to up-to-date 3GPP LTE Release 8 specifications.
"The 4M Wireless LTE terminal protocol stack is achieving rapid success in the market place and we are very pleased that mimoOn is using the 4M Wireless LTE stack to validate the products of both companies" said Atif Malik, CEO of 4M Wireless. “Through successful collaborations such as this demonstration, we will be able to deliver reliable LTE solutions to the cellular industry.”
“mimoOn has been a pioneer in developing software and hardware reference designs for both LTE infrastructure as well as terminals” stated Thomas Kaiser, CEO of mimoOn. “This demonstration with 4M Wireless was implemented in a short period of time which shows that both companies’ products will be interoperable and market ready, and will expedite the rollout of LTE and high speed mobile broadband to the consumer”.
mimoOn and 4M Wireless will demonstrate their solutions at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona from February 16th to 19th 2009. mimoOn will be at 2.1D16 in hall 2 and 4M Wireless will be present on stand AV26 on the Avenue Pavilion.
