mimoOn and Qasara announce demonstration of high bandwidth video over LTE
Cambridge, 12 February, 2009:
mimoOn, a leader in software defined radio solutions for advanced wireless standards, today announced live demonstration of high bandwidth video over LTE at Mobile World Congress, Barcelona. The application will run between mimoOn’s LTE eNodeB and Qasara’s LTE Virtual UE mobile.
mimoOn’s ‘mi!Infra™’ software is full featured and certified based on the Release 8 36.XXX series specifications from 3GPP. The software is written in high level language and is in modular form so it is easy to modify or customize even after being deployed – an important feature as the standards for the protocol layers continue to be revised.
The demonstration incorporates Qasara’s LTE UE protocol stack and
advanced logging tools that enable message sequences and link
performance to be monitored, logged and displayed in real-time. Full
configuration, set-up and release protocol exchanges between
the mobile and basestation are demonstrated conforming to the September release of the 3GPP LTE standard.
