Dirk Friebel has more than 26 years of working experience and has an extensive industrial network along the value chain of telecommunication, multimedia and microelectronics. During the last 19 years he has held several different management positions in research, marketing and general management in companies like Nokia, Infineon, NEC and Siemens.
Dirk is chairman of the Executive Board GMM-VDE/VDI Society microelectronics, microsystems and precision engineering and President of nomiko e.V – talent management company. He holds a Master of Engineering, a Master of business administration and studied business pedagogic.
René Kantehm
CFO and General Manager

- René Kantehm
René Kantehm has more than 8 years experience in financial control. René started his career in building up the sales control for Abit AG, a German software company. In 2002, René joined IKB AG and worked as a credit analyst with a main focus on IT financing. Thereafter, he was responsible for investor relations. In 2008 René worked as a director of cash equity in the investment banking division of WestLB. René studied business administration, is a certified credit analyst and an MBA holder with the main focus on controlling and financing.
Brian Meads
Vice President Marketing

- Brian Meads
Brian Meads has 28 years experience in communications/telecommunications as a software engineer and sales/marketing executive. He spent his early career years developing real-time software for military communications systems in the US and Germany. Several years as a freelance engineer broadened his experience into Unix systems and provided the opportunity to work on the first generation of GSM mobiles at Siemens AG. Joining GSM startup Optimay in 1994, he led user interface development before taking time off to complete an MBA in Strategy, Information and Technology at EDHEC in Nice, France. Returning to Optimay in a commercial role, he became Marketing Director and led all software sales and marketing activities as the company was acquired by Lucent Microelectronics (now Intel Mobile Communications). He then moved to Philips Semiconductors (now ST-Ericsson) as Software Product Marketing Manager and later to MCCI Corporation, a world leader in USB software, as VP Marketing. He has negotiated licensing agreements for software and hardware IP used by semiconductor and consumer product vendors in close to a billion end user products around the world. In addition to his MBA, Brian holds a B.S.E.E. in Computer Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA.
Jan Westmeijer
Vice President Engineering

- Jan Westmeijer
Jan Westmeijer started his career as an IC design engineer at 1989 first at Micronas, Finland and later on as a senior IC design engineer at Ericsson, Sweden. He designed various chips ranging from mixed signal to RF. In 1996, Jan joined Nokia Research Centre, Germany as a Research Manager with the primary focus on building up the baseband radio design group serving Nokia internal customers. Together with his team he did several point-to-point radio designs, DVB-T/H and radio IPs ending into Nokia products. Over time the content of the team shifted to early technology enabling prototyping such as enhanced WLAN 11a, DRM and finally he headed the physical layer advanced development of LTE Rel 8. Since 2005 Jan has been very much dealing with the definition and introduction of baseband SDR technology as a responsible research manager at Nokia's handset side primarily in collaboration with the semiconductor and fabless industry. He holds a Dutch Ingenieur's degree in electrical engineering of the Hogeschool of Alkmaar.

Stefan Büchmann has more than 22 years of experience in software and intellectual property sales. His previous position has been with MIPS Technologies Inc. where he served for more than ten years as an Account Director and later as Vice President Sales EMEA. Previously Stefan was holding sales management positions at Virage Logic, Avant! Corporation and Mentor Graphics. Stefan started his career as an Application engineer at Cadence Design Systems. He holds a Diplom Ingenieur in Electrical Engineering from Ruhr University Bochum, Germany.
Bernd Scharbert
Senior Director of Design Services

- Bernd Scharbert
Bernd Scharbert joined mimoOn in October 2012 in the newly created position of Senior Director of Design Services. Bernd brings over thirty years experience in the sales and services sector with companies such as Computer Associates and Tektronix. Recently, he was Sales Director for Test and Certifications Services at test house 7 Layers, with global responsibility. Before joining mimoOn, he was Executive Account Manager for global clients at Nash Technologies, winning testing and software development projects. He also represented Nash in GCF and Small Cell forum standardization activities. Bernd has a Diploma in Electronics from Technical University in Dusseldorf, Germany.
